You might be surprised at how fun airing your dirty laundry online can be!

What is the “betrayal list” trend on TikTok?

The "betrayal list" TikTok trend involves posting a list of funny complaints or frustrations. This trend was inspired by Kanye West's own "betrayal list," which he posted, deleted, revised, and reposted on X. Most notably, his list included his daughter North West, Curious George, and Adolf (Hitler, presumably).

Betrayal List Meaning

  1. This trend first emerged in March 2025 when Kanye West, or Ye, posted a “betrayal list” on X, naming people who he felt had betrayed him. Although the public wasn’t sure if West’s list was meant to be taken seriously or not, users began posting their own silly versions on Instagram and TikTok.[1]

Kanye West’s Betrayal List

  1. West’s post on X started with the preface, “I AM IN PAIN THAT NO ONE PERSON CAN FIX.” He titled this first list, “THE BETRAYAL,” and named 20 people, including rappers Big Sean and Jay-Z. This list was deleted, but he posted a second betrayal list in September 2025. His ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, was at the top of that list, followed by YouTuber IShowSpeed, and rappers Diddy and Ty$.[2]
    • A few questionable and surprising historical figures appeared on the second list, like Harriet Tubman and Adolf (Hitler, we assume, though he only listed a first name).
    • One of the most shocking mentions on the list is West’s own 12-year-old daughter, North West. Fans expressed concern on Reddit, with one user asking, “Why the f**k is North on here?”
      • Another user shared their opinion: “Sad he brings up North West in public as someone who betrayed him. Bro needs to be in a psychiatric hospital.”
    • Other notable mentions on West’s betrayal list include fictional characters Curious George and Patrick Star; Pete Davidson, who briefly dated Kim Kardashian; and current U.S. President Donald Trump.
    • West has since deleted his post, and his team has not made any further comments.

  1. Writing your own silly version of Ye’s “betrayal list” is easy peasy and can give your online friends a good chuckle. All you need is a Notes app on your phone, like Samsung Notes or Apple Notes, and a list of complaints, frustrations, or frenemies you’re willing to digitally throw under the bus. Then, post your list on TikTok (or other social media of choice) and soundtrack it with Kanye's "Runaway."
