You can use SmartThings to control your devices from your phone. You can also use Find my Device if your device is ever lost or stolen. This wikiHow article teaches you how to create a new Samsung account using a Samsung Galaxy, a web browser, or a smart TV.

Creating a Samsung Account: Quick Steps

  • On any device, you can create a Samsung account by going to account.samsung.com and selecting Create account.
  • On a Samsung phone or tablet, create an account by opening the Settings app and tapping Sign in to your Galaxy at the top.
  • If you have a Samsung TV, you can create an account during the setup process or go to account.samsung.com on any device.

    • Alternatively, if you want to create an account using your Google account, you can tap Sign in with Google.
  4. If you are under the age of 13, a parent needs to create your account and set up parental controls. If you’re under 13, tap I’m under 13. If you are over the age of 13, tap I’m over 13.
  5. Tap the circles to check each item. You need to check the Terms and Conditions and Notice of Financial Incentives at the top. All the other items under “Check out the following options” are optional. Then tap Agree.
    • You can select All at the bottom to select all options.
  6. Fill out the form to do so. Use the first two bars to enter a valid email and password. Then select your birthday. Then enter your first and last name.
    • If this email address is associated with another Samsung account, you'll see an error message as you try to create a new account.
    • Your password must contain 8 or more characters with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.
    • Confirm your personal information. You'll need to make sure your first name, last name, and birth date are entered correctly on this page before you continue.

  8. Your phone number may be detected and enter automatically. If it is not, enter your phone number and tap Send. Then retrieve the verification code from your text messages. Enter the code and tap Verify.
    • If the phone number is not correct or if you want to verify your account on a different phone, tap Use another number. You can't use Internet-based numbers like Google Voice to verify your account.
  9. Tap Go to Inbox to open your email inbox. Then tap the verification email from Samsung. Tap the Verify account link in the email to verify your account.
    • If you can't find the email in your main inbox, check your spam inbox.
    • You can also copy the URL and enter it into a web browser's address bar.

  1. If you are setting up your Samsung TV for the first time, you can select Get Started to create your Samsung account. Otherwise, use the following steps to navigate to the account settings menu:[3]

  10. You can click Go to Inbox to open your email inbox in your web browser. You can also go to your inbox in a separate tab. Open the email from Samsung and tap Verify account to create your account.
