  1. Go to https://facebook.com/groups in a web browser. If you're logged in to Facebook, you will see a list of groups you manage, as well as groups you've joined, in the left sidebar.
    • If you're not signed in, follow the on-screen instructions now.
    • You can edit a group description as often as needed, but you can only change the name of a Facebook group once every 28 days. If it has been fewer than 28 days since your last group name edit, you won't be able to edit the group's name.[1]
  2. Groups you can edit appear under "Groups you manage" in the left panel. You can only edit the description, name, and other details of groups you manage.[2]
    • If you're not a group admin, you won't see your group under "Groups you manage," and thus cannot change the group description.
    • If you manage a lot of groups, it may be easier to search for the group by name using the "Search groups" bar at the upper-left.
